the title it self is very self explanatory, Shakespare in naming this book in trying to underhanded tell you what the book is about which is nothing. all the fuss a is all a miss understanding or about nothing importance. thus if you can interpret the topic properly you would know that the book is one big fuss about nothing in particular.

brother man summary. year one

Brother Man is the tragic story of an honest Rastafarian healer and visionary name John Power who is caught up in a web of conspiracy and betrayal in a Jamaican West Kingston slum area refferred to as 'The Lane'. The healer who everybody calls Brother Man, a.k.a. Bra Man, is a cobbler whose ability to cure the sick and injured through a mystic force elevates him to the status of a prophet. As a result, a crowd begins to follow him when he passes in the street. With each miracle performed, his reputation spreads.

Although Brother Man devotes his life to healing and caring for the inhabitants of his neighbourhood, they turn on him when things don't go their way or at the first sign of trouble, as they are not loyal to him. First, there is the deranged Cordelia, who Bra' Man healed when she was sick. She turns on him when he cannot heal her son Tad and consequently turns to Bra' Ambo, an obeah man, who considers Bra' Man as his adversary. As the obeah takes its toll on her in the disintegration of her mind, she considers it as Bra Man's fault that her son does not get better. She further joins up with Papacita to frame him by planting counterfeit coins in Bra Man's money Jar. The police was then informed that Bra Man had counterfeit coins in his possession.

Then there is the wicked, envious Papacita, an enforcer who is threatened by Brother Man's message of peace and love. Papacita's jealoust is stirred in many ways. The evil schemer also covets the attention of Minette and would go to any length to get Bra' Man out of the way as he feels that Minette would entertain his advances once Bra' Man was out of the picture. Girlie becomes aware of Papacita's interest in Minette and this is causing episodes of quarrelsome passion between them because of her jealousy and his lust. This erupts in some violent sexual struggles between them. Evidence of this is when Girlie savagely bites Papacita's bottom lip and cries out, "hurt me like that, hurt me, love me and hurt me!...

qoutes ( frist year)

What should i do with him - dress him in my apparel and make him my waiting gentle woman? He that hath a beard, is more than a youth : and he that hath no beard is less than a man : and he that is more than a youth is not for me, and he that is less than a man, I am not for him

Beatrice is speaking these words

Beatrice is saying here that basically that she need a young man, she doses not want a boy one that is less than a man, and she does not want and old man he that is more than youth.

to me this quite is telling use a little about Beatrice it shows us how she is not the traditional woman. it also shows how she has set her standards so high that they are virtually unattainable

Benedick was saying these words

Benedick is basically saying that if ever he marries he is a fool and that he is strapped down with a woman. and he is also here mucking the union of marriage

this quote shows us Benedick apprehension to marriage and what at that time he thinks about it. it also shows that he dose not and is not willing to trust his heart to a woman and risk being hurt

mira mase did play a very important role in the childrens lives she was there mother figure she was the one who gave them the love and attention that they where not getting from their parents.

aunt mira even taught baba skills that no one taught he could ever achieve. i don't really think that the fact that the children left aunt mira should be really be held again them because aunt mira would have wanted them to move forward in life and move forward to bigger and better things. however the children should have come back to visit before she died. one would think that they would love and adore this one person from they family that really even cared about them and thier upbringing.its odd how quickly we turn our backs on the ones to help us up after we have reached the top

( miss i did this assignment before however it was on the wikispaces please check it i was one of the first people there)

Blog #1 King Lear

Lear’s basic flaw at the beginning of the play is that he values appearances above reality. He wants to be treated as a king and to enjoy the title, but he doesn’t want to fulfill a king’s obligations of governing for the good of his subjects. Similarly, his test of his daughters demonstrates that he values a flattering public display of love over real love. He doesn’t ask “which of you doth love us most,” but rather, “which of you shall we say doth love us most?” (I.i.49).

king lear is also quite stubborn as in the beginning of the play it is already showen that Cordelia is his favorite daughter, so presumably he knows that she loves him the most. Nevertheless, Lear values Goneril and Regan’s fawning over Cordelia’s sincere sense of filial duty. showing use that he is unwise and nor fit to rule a kingdom.

king lear also dose not learn one woukd belive after her finds out the truth about his daughter and regains his sanity that he would rise abouve it all the reclam his palce and the throne and right the wrongs. however his values do change over the course of the play. As he realizes his weakness and insignificance in comparison to the awesome forces of the natural world, he becomes a humble and caring individual. He comes to cherish Cordelia above everything else and to place his own love for Cordelia above every other consideration, to the point that he would rather live in prison with her than rule as a king again. but he dose no grow from his experiecances to became a better king. he is weak and cowardly as he just gives up.

Significance of Baba

In the book clear light of day the youngest child Baba Das is barely noticeable in the book. we always here about the other children but hardly about Baba.

Baba is semi retarded and dose not seem to be very significant person. however that is quite the contrary baba represents the sameness that is evident all over and throughout the novel. as the das household and home dose not change the same can be said for baba he basically remains the same . at frist he dose not change at all he seem to be stuck in a void where nothing happens. them mira mase comes and she cahges his rutine injecting certain things like playing marbles however sadly that too becomes a habit and baba is sucked back in to that void where nothing chages at all.

Just as the house settle and started to decay while everything else and ever one else is moving on just so Baba in stuck in his ways and remains the same.

Literary symbol for Clear Light of Day

When authors and other literary writers seek to create a piece of literature they do so by using literary devices which enhance there work. Antia the writer of clear light of day did so and some that where used in particluar will be discussed
Foreshadowing is a literary technique used by many different authors to provide clues for the reader to be able to predict what might occur later on in the story. In other words, it is a literary device in which an author drops hints about the plot and what may come in the near future or, in other words, the plot developments to come later in the story.
in the book clear light of day it is easy to say the the entire first chapter is like a foreshadow( after you have read the entire book) because when we are first introduced to the characters they are must older and have lived there life's how they saw fit and in the second chapter we are again introduced to the characters as there younger self's and we see why they now act as they do because we can see they childhood played out in front of us.

it can also be said if you thing about it properly that chapter 2 and maybe some beyond that was simlar to a the litery device flashback which is an interjected scene that takes the narrative back in time from the current point the story has reached. Flashbacks are often used to recount events that happened prior to the story’s primary sequence of events or to fill in crucial backstory. i said this because as we are introduced to the charaters at frist ther are many question as to why they are how they are and why they behave how they do however as the book progress we see why. thus chapter 2 and some beyond can be called a flashback

I love you more than any answer to the question “How much' ragan on the other had says Sir, I’m made of the same stuff as my sister and consider myself just as good as she is. She’s described my feelings of love for you precisely, but her description falls a little short of the truth.
