In the book clear light of day the youngest child Baba Das is barely noticeable in the book. we always here about the other children but hardly about Baba.
Baba is semi retarded and dose not seem to be very significant person. however that is quite the contrary baba represents the sameness that is evident all over and throughout the novel. as the das household and home dose not change the same can be said for baba he basically remains the same . at frist he dose not change at all he seem to be stuck in a void where nothing happens. them mira mase comes and she cahges his rutine injecting certain things like playing marbles however sadly that too becomes a habit and baba is sucked back in to that void where nothing chages at all.
Just as the house settle and started to decay while everything else and ever one else is moving on just so Baba in stuck in his ways and remains the same.
