In the novel brother man the character john powers brother man is the man character. brother man is a very nice person he tries his best to help out other no matter what and asks nothing in return he gives money to Cordelia to help her son after he realizes that he can't he buy s the crab form the boy to set it free he takes in a girl off the street and feeds her and care for her he is over all selfless .in the novel there are many instances where is is kind trying to be like his mentor jests and he is just hurt or rejected. it is a same that brother man is not treated better in this book he deserves it.
